A former cave in Lo Uttaro, in the area near Caserta, will hold the work waste from the combustible plant of waste from Santa Maria Capua Vetere as well as garbage stocked in some areas in the same location. This is the substance of the result of an agreement signed today by the commissioner for emergency waste in the Campania region as well as the head of civil protection Guido Bertolaso and by the president of the province of Caserta Sandro De Franciscis. The former cave has a capacity of 400 thousand tons, equal to the region's annual production, and after evaluations and verifications it will be operational within two months. "It is the first step in the cycle of regional waste," underlined Bertolaso, "with the responsibility of the local bodies in managing the sytem." De Franciscis, based on the agreement, was also nominated Commissioner of the Caserta consortium that deals with the region's waste-management. "
