"The Laos 2007 expedition is back from a very successful trip to the remote North Eastern province Houaphan. Several river caves with a total length of 10 km were surveyed in the very promising area of Vieng Xai. This district town has a beautiful tower karst area and a fascinating history from Vietnam war times. The active river cave Tham Nam Long is now with 4.8 km length the longest cave in Northern Laos. Another 5km were mapped in the area of Phoukhoun and Vieng Thong resulting in 15 km of mapped caves during the 2007 expedition. "
