Rescuers were able to bring five people and one puppy to safety early Wednesday morning after they were trapped inside a Catoosa cave for about 15 hours.
The Walker County Cliff-Cave Rescue Team rescued Ty Johnson, Syrus Gordy III, Kenneth Eares, Bradley White, Chad Swafford, and a brown puppy named Rooster after the group decided to explore the cave Tuesday evening after work.
The party was trapped inside the 3,519 ft. Lost Creek Cave, referred to by locals as “Suckhole” because of the underground spring it contains. (...)
